Panel Presentation:

Dr. Stefanie Green, MDCM CCFP

Ellen Agger, Dying with Dignity Victoria Co-chair

Jeffrey Brooks, Dying with Dignity Victoria Co-chair

---

Dr. Stefanie Green hails from Eastern Canada where she attended McGill University medical school and trained as a family physician. After 10 years in general practice and another 12 years working exclusively in maternity and newborn care, Dr. Green pivoted and started working in Medical Aid in Dying. Dr. Green is on Clinical Faculty at both the University of Victoria and UBC. She finds it gratifying to inform both the public and her peers about Medical Assistance in Dying.

Ellen Agger is Co-chair and long-time member of Dying With Dignity Canada, Victoria Chapter.

Jeffrey Brooks is also a Co-chair and busy supporter of Dying with Dignity Canada, Victoria Chapter, and a palliative care volunteer.

Dying With Dignity (DWD) is committed to improving quality of dying, expanding end-of-life choices and helping Canadians avoid unwanted suffering. Their four-part mandate:

1) To advocate for compassionate end-of-life choices, and work to accurately inform the public about the constitutional right to medical assistance in dying.

2) To inform Canadians about legal end-of-life options and the importance of advance care planning.

3) To provide personal support to adults suffering greatly from a grievous and irremediable illness or medical condition, and who wish to die on their own terms.

4) To advocate for and support those whose rights are being violated.
